Introduction

I am a proud alumnus of Indiana University - Bloomington (Class of 1984) and the Indiana University School of Medicine (Class of 1988). After nearly a 30 year career as an orthopedic surgeon, I remain a dedicated supporter of Indiana University and the great state of Indiana. My experience as a former board member of the Center Grove Community School Corporation (Greenwood, IN) and Franklin College (Franklin, IN) has given me valuable experience.

I believe my background and vision will play a key role in supporting the future growth and continued success of Indiana University as a potential board member. Having met my wife at the IU School of Medicine and with three of my sons graduating from Indiana University programs, my passion for our university runs deep.

My Platform

Elevating the Student Experience

  • Providing the student a top tier level faculty who will change and mentor students and ask them to "think outside the box"

  • Advocating for student involvement in decision making

  • Supporting the IU Media School and its student run, Indiana Daily Student (IDS)

Fulfilling the Need for Physician Representation on the IU Board of Trustees

  • I can offer my medical perspective and opinion for the Board on issues related to medical research and education.

  • Support and uplift IU’s various health science programs, including the IU School of Medicine, the largest medical school in the country

Improving IU’s Ranking and Brand

  • The 2025 US News & World Report "Best Colleges" ranking for IU was #34 overall in top public schools and #73 in national universities. IU’s ranking among Big Ten public schools is 13th out of the 16 Big Ten public universities.  We can do better.

  • The events that occurred and decisions made recently have negatively impacted the IU brand.
